Forward Deployed Software Engineer – Austin

Requirements

Must have:

– Proven experience in software development, especially in dynamic environments that demand adaptability and autonomy. – Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities, capable of working independently and efficiently. – A user-focused mindset, displaying enthusiasm for applying software solutions to impactful engineering challenges. – Desire to be part of an early-stage team dedicated to developing tools that augment advanced hardware capabilities. – Willingness to travel 25 to 50% of the time for direct customer engagement at technical sites, such as aerospace test facilities. – Experience building backend systems using Java or other relevant backend languages, tools, and frameworks. – Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement customized software solutions, tools, and integrations that meet specific client requirements, emphasizing rapid iterations and functional prototypes. – Design and uphold strong data workflows that ensure seamless connectivity between client data systems and our internal platforms, often within technical and unconventional settings. – Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales and Operations, to facilitate technical assessments, guide pre-sales discussions, and outline the scope of client-facing projects. – Act as a primary advocate for the customer by providing technical feedback and user insights to influence product direction and guide future feature enhancements. – Contribute to team development by engaging in recruitment, conducting technical interviews, and assisting in the onboarding of new engineering team members.
