About the Role

A well-established, high-volume tavern-style kitchen in a landmark public market is hiring a Food Runner/K itchen Assistant.

This is a steady daytime role in a busy market kitchen serving breakfast and short-order favorites, including cheesesteaks, burgers, eggs, and fried specialties.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Average total earnings: $15–$20 per hour (base pooled tips)

  • Estimated weekly earnings: $450–$700 based on 30–35 hours

  • Paid weekly

Base pay is $10/hr plus consistent pooled tips.

Schedule

  • 30–35 hours per week

  • 4–5 days per week

  • Friday–Sunday required

  • Shifts typically run:

  • 7:30 AM — 6:30 PM

  • 10:00 AM — 6:30 PM (Friday–Sunday)

  • Most new hires will begin on the 10:00 AM — 6:30 PM schedule during the first month

  • Additional shifts may be available during conventions and special events

  • No evening or late-night shifts

What You’ll Do

  • Run food efficiently from kitchen to service counter

  • Prepare breakfast and short-order items

  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards

  • Execute recipes with speed and consistency

  • Support a respectful, team-oriented BOH environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous Food Runner or BOH kitchen experience

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended shifts

  • Food safety knowledge (ServSafe preferred)

  • Fast, organized, and calm under pressure

  • Reliable and professional
