Fixed Assets Accounting Coordinator Posting Closes March 18 2026 Starting Pay 6173815 annually 118727 weekly General Description The Fixed Asset Accounting Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely records of the organizations capital assets This role supports the full lifecycle of fixed assets from acquisition and capitalization through depreciation transfers and disposals The coordinator ensures compliance with company policies accounting standards and internal controls while working closely with departments such as Purchasing Accounts Payable Operations and Finance This position plays a key role in month end close audit support and continuous improvement of asset management processes Minimum Qualifications Associates degree in accounting finance or related field ANDOne 1 year of experience with fixed asset accounting andor general ledger accountingBachelors degree in accounting Finance or related field PREFERREDA comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirements May be required to successfully complete and pass required skills testing Background Screening This position will require an extensive background investigation Essential Functions Review purchase orders invoices and supporting documentation to determine proper capitalization in accordance with agency policy Generally Accepted Accounting Principles GAAP and Governmental Accounting Standards Board GASB standardsRecord capital asset acquisitions in the fixed asset system ensuring accurate classifications useful life assignments funding source identification and asset categoryCoordinate with Purchasing and Accounts Payable to verify completeness and accuracy of asset documentationPerform asset tagging functions including assigning property numbers and ensuring timely recording prior to placement into serviceCollaborate with Fleet IT and operational divisions regarding fixed assetsMaintain and monitor depreciation schedules for all capital asset classesPerform year end depreciation processing within the fixed asset subledgerReview accumulated depreciation balances for accuracy and reasonablenessProcess and document asset transfers between departments funds andor locationsRecord reclassifications of assets as necessaryMaintain documentation supporting custody and departmental changesReview and process asset disposals and trade insPerform monthly reconciliation between the fixed asset subledger and the general ledgerInvestigate and resolve discrepancies between systems in a timely mannerPrepare adjusting journal entries related to capital assets depreciation and reclassificationsPrepare capital asset roll forward schedules and support documentation for annual auditSupport preparation of financial statement footnotes related to capital assetsMaintain documentation to ensure audit readiness and compliance with internal control standardsAssist departments with asset inventory verification and documentation requirementsProvide guidance to divisions regarding capitalization thresholds tagging procedures and asset control policiesAttends work on a regular and consistent basisMust adhere to Federal State County and local ordinancesPerforms other duties as assignedStatus Civilian Blood and Viral Pathogen Risk Minimal Risk Environmental Conditions General office setting with most duties being performed
