Job Overview

Throne Solutions is seeking a skilled and reliable Field Engineer to support technical operations at our client site in Rome, NY. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in IT hardware, network troubleshooting, and on-site support. This role involves working directly with clients, resolving technical issues efficiently, and ensuring smooth operation of IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, servers, and network equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair tasks on IT systems.
  • Coordinate with remote teams for escalations and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Document all work performed, including issues, resolutions, and equipment handled.
  • Ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
  • Support deployment of new systems and upgrades as required.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and timely service.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4 years of experience as a Field Engineer, IT Support Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, Windows OS, and basic networking.
  • Experience with installations, break-fix tasks, device imaging, and system upgrades.
  • Familiarity with routers, switches, cabling, and network diagnostics.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , or equivalent.
  • Experience working in data centers or high-security environments.
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA, etc.).
