Major Duties

Work with Applications, Mechanical Engineering and Lead Builder to assist with the concept, design and integration of feed systems. Concept, run-off, line up, debug and install feed systems to meet customer requirements.

  • Assist applications with the conception of the feed systems.
  • Sit in on ME design reviews and provide suggestions.
  • Attend feed system runoffs and authorize approval.
  • Line up and debug feed systems.
  • Use knowledge of OSHA requirements for machine safety devices and guards.
  • Interface with customer when necessary.
  • Install and service feed systems at customer’s site as required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow safe working practices.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly fashion.
  • Follow work instructions and maintain checklists.
  • Maintain departmental goals in keeping with company objectives.
  • Recommend improvements in order to facilitate company growth.
  • Maintain ISO13485 and 9001 Certification Requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Mentor Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and existing knowledge to new or existing Machine Builders in a professional manner.

  • Provide informal transmission of knowledge through communication by suggestion and hands on training.

  • Provide feedback to Senior Management on mentoring process.

  • Mentor new or existing employees based on Management’s recommendation.

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 10 years minimum experience in machine building.
  • Journeyman tool maker or equivalent skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

EQUIPMENT:

  • Must be knowledgeable in the proper use and selection of tools and equipment.

Examples:

  • Inspection and measurement tools such as vernier, caliper, and scales, etc.
  • Hand tools such as a variety of wrenches, pliers, saws, power drills, etc.
  • Machinery such as milling machine, surface grinders, lathe, etc.
