Farm Hand/Laborer

Job Overview

This role offers the opportunity to work outdoor supporting a variety of farming activities that promote sustainable, organic farming. You will be hands-on in maintaining farm equipment, assisting with crop production, ensuring our farm runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain farm machinery and heavy equipment like tractors, forklifts, and irrigation systems safely and effectively
• Support planting, harvesting, watering, and crop management activities in fields or greenhouses
• Handle heavy lifting of supplies, or equipment to ensure smooth workflow across farm operations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization, pens, greenhouses, and work areas to promote safety and efficiency
• Follow safety protocols while working with farm machinery, and tools to prevent accidents or injuries

Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair and maintenance is highly desirable
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as tractors
• Knowledge of horticulture practices including greenhouse management and irrigation systems
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations, and the use of hand tools or power tools
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting, working in varying weather conditions, and active movement throughout the day

Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour
