Description Of Position The College of Education at Northeastern State University is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Educational Leadership. The faculty member will teach graduate courses online and some possible blended courses serving the M.Ed. in School Administration Program primarily, but also professional education courses serving various other graduate programs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate courses in the College of Education, specifically within the Department

of Educational Leadership and School Administration Program

  • Advise program students
  • Attend recruitment events
  • Participate in program and department meetings as scheduled
  • Develop and build a retention, tenure, and promotion portfolio
  • Other duties expected of the rank and position

This person will serve as a central point of contact for program students, faculty, and public school personnel. This position is Oklahoma-based. In addition to working within the School Administration Program and advising students, this person will also assist in teaching courses within the department. Knowledge of national standards for building-level and district-level leaders is preferred. Experience teaching in an online college-level environment is preferred.

Education Qualified candidates will have an earned doctorate from an accredited institution. (Terminal degree is required for a tenure track position). Candidates who are ABD in their doctorate may be considered (salary commensurate). Certification as a building principal from a state department of education (Oklahoma certification preferred) is required. Certification as a superintendent from a state department of education (Oklahoma certification preferred) is preferred.

Experience Experience as a building principal or assistant principal is required, as well as teaching experience in pK-12. Preferred qualifications include previous online college-level teaching experience.
