Engineering Technician

Major Purpose:

The Test Technician will support the Accelerated Design Verification (ADV) group by performing test setup, monitoring, inspection, and reporting in accordance with established test plans.

This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently on 3rd shift operations.

Major Duties:

• Assemble test rigs based on layout drawings and setup instructions.
• Perform mechanical assembly using hand tools, battery/air impact wrenches, and overhead cranes.
• Connect hydraulic plumbing and electrical control cables.
• Work in physically demanding conditions including bending, kneeling, and floor-level tasks; must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Document changes to setup procedures and layout drawings for continuous improvement.
• Monitor and adjust test controls to ensure efficient test operations.
• Inspect test specimens and perform repairs as required by defined parameters.
• Record all test-related incidents and activities using a web-based application.
• Execute emergency shutoff procedures when necessary to prevent safety or environmental issues.
• Perform routine lab maintenance and cleaning (mopping, vacuuming, organizing, tool/equipment storage).
• Pick up parts and perform various errands as needed.

Preferred Background:

• Experience working on machinery (tear down and repair), mechanic or mechanical background.
• Knowledge of Windows file/folder structure and ability to copy/move/rename files.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read dimensioned part drawings and test layout drawings.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with servo-hydraulic or hydraulic systems preferred but not required.
