Here, you’ll build a career that makes a tangible difference for those who defend our nation.We are looking for an Engineering Aide Specialist to provide technical support for failure analysis, material inspection, and calibration activities in the Advanced Materials Laboratory (AML). The ideal candidate blends extensive hands on laboratory expertise with a strong focus on product quality.Core responsibilities include:

  • Failure-Analysis & RCCA Support – Conduct root-cause investigations of material and electronic defects, prepare detailed reports, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Perform material inspection tasks, including chemistry evaluations, to ensure that materials meet performance criteria before being released to the floor or for shelf-life extensions of selected materials.
  • Calibration & Equipment Readiness – Manage calibration of AML inspection and analytical tools (metallographic microscopes, universal testing machines, etc.) and document maintenance to ensure traceability and IPC compliance.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing-quality or advanced-materials laboratory, with proven calibration oversight and failure-analysis work
  • Proficiency in SAP (Q-Note generation), Microsoft Excel, and Word, combined with strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired skills

  • Proficient in operation of optical inspection scopes, digital imaging, and cross-sectioning equipment
  • Working knowledge of Owego manufacturing processes and related SOPs
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Proven training/mentoring experience and a continuous-improvement mindset (Lean/Six Sigma)
