Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE (ELECTROTECH 1)Troubleshoot and repair assemblies, subassemblies, products, and/or systems.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Educated in the theory of electronics and have the ability to apply this theory in discussion with engineers in a manufacturing environment

  • Interpret schematics and assembly diagrams and apply the knowledge in component level troubleshooting and repair of product.

  • Screws, solders, cements, press fits, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.

  • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on a printed circuit board.

  • Data collection as required

  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases with understanding of test procedures.

The candidate must have competency in electronics theory.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of the use of test equipment including multi-meters,oscilloscopes, power meters, signal generators, etc. Competent in electronics theory.Competent through-hole and surface mount soldering abilityEXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Required understanding of electronics principles as pertains to troubleshooting electronics. Must be able to translate electronic schematics.SKILLS/ABILITIES: Solid communication skills and ability to communicate effectivelyacross all organizational levels. Must have solid practical skills in electronics manufacturing, schematic reading abilities, troubleshooting skills and use ofcommon tools.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: REPETITIVE MOTIONS: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Physically active position, climbing ladder, lifting boxes (up to 30lbs), pushing carts, stooping and bending.
