New DRIVER Position Opening Urgently Hiring Are you interested in Making a Difference in the Lives of Local Youth Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio BGCNEO has an immediate opening to join our team as a DRIVER in Lorain OH This position will work out of our Desich Club in Lorain Ohio POSITION SUMMARY The ideal candidate will be a friendly helpful individual responsible for operating agency vehicles inspecting vehicles and identifying maintenance and repair needs; and drive vans or buses to transport passengers This position may also assist with miscellaneous club support ie serving meals checking in members and keeping club clean If you are looking for a fun rewarding fast paced role please apply for immediate consideration Position is Part Time Monday FridaySchool Year Work schedule is 25 hours per week generally between 130 pm 630 pmSummer Session work hours may vary June AugustStarting pay range is 18 per hourBenefits available and very generous PTO and paid Holidays includedESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Follow relevant safety regulations and state laws governing vehicle operationsEnsure that passengers follow safety regulationsTest vehicle equipment such as lights brakes horns or windshield wipers to ensure proper operationArrange to pick up particular groups on a regular scheduleProvide passengers with assistance entering and exiting vehicles and help staff with as requestedNotify Transportation Manager or Director of Operations of vehicle problems and repairsComplete accident reports when necessaryCommunicate with Transportation Manager to exchange information and receive schedule for passenger pick upDrive vans school bus or agency owned vehicles to transport passengersPerform routine vehicle inspectionsmaintenancePick up passengers at prearranged locations following strict time schedulesMaintain trip sheets containing the number of passengers reason for trip pick up and drop off timesAssist passengers on and off vehicles when necessary; help escort small childrenWatch gauges dials or other indicators to make sure vehicle is working properlyComply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous mannerHelp maintain order among passengers during trips to ensure safetyCheck the condition of a vehicles tires brakes lights oil fuel water and safety equipmentRegulate heating lighting and ventilation systems for passenger comfortREQUIREMENTS & SKILLS REQUIRED Valid Commercial Drivers License Must pass a Background and Drug screening checkHigh school diploma preferredAbility to read maps and follow geographic directionsCPR and first aid certificates preferredDependable punctual and committed to excellent attendance
