For over 75 years Catholic Family and Community Services has provided at little or no cost a full spectrum of services to individuals who are oppressed families who are in crisis and communities who are disenfranchised Located throughout the New Jersey Counties of Passaic Morris and Sussex we provide professionally based social services including Behavioral Health Programs Veterans Services Childrens Programs Senior and Aging Services and much more Driver Meals on Wheels Hours Per Diem As Assigned Location Franklin NJ Pay 1600Hour Job Summary Duties include working cooperatively with the Meals on Wheels staff Use and care of the MOW vehicle Report to MOW site and prepare delivery items for assigned routes Distribute meals to homebound clients Enjoy working with seniors Position Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties Help to load vans and follow designated routeDeliver meals to client homes if volunteers are not availableDeliver emergency bags grocery bags or donations to clients homes when indicatedHelp other drivers when needed to deliver meals to clients when neededCheck bags Cambro carriers and coolers for cleanliness and clean dailyComplete a well check and call the office immediately if client is in distress or not homeReturn empty carriers to site and place carrier bags in order on wire racks Ensure there is a bag for each town if not get one from storage and put in place on wire rackNo Smoking in MOW vehicles keep van clean inside and out at all timesReport any maintenance needs for MOW county vehicles or CFCS vehicles to office contact and coordinate with the county garage for county owned vehicles when repairs are needed and pick up when completeCFCS vehicle accidents must be reported immediately to the office a report must be filled out with the office and then submitted to CFCS insurance company Accidents with Sussex County vehicles must be reported and followed up with Sussex County garage and county office All accident reports are a responsibility for the driver to retrieve from the police station All other incidents with MOW clients must be reported and documented even when no injury occursUse personal vehicle when necessary to deliver meals or other tasks when neededResponsible for other duties that may be assigned from time to time to support the effective and efficient operation of Catholic Charities Qualifications Clean and valid NJ Drivers licenseKnowledge of food handling and safety a plusMust be reliable and promptAble to follow directions using a map or GPS systemStrong customer service skillsPosition requires that this individual be able to lift 40 pounds
