The Director of Student Accounts Receivable at Arapahoe Community College provides strategic leadership for student billing, accounts receivable, cashiering, and collections. This position ensures accurate and compliant financial transactions, manages the Banner student accounts system, and oversees cash management operations. The Director supervises staff responsible for student accounts, billing, receivables, cashiering, and front-line customer service, setting goals and driving efficiency and service excellence. They collaborate with Financial Aid, the Registrar, and Student Services to support student success while maintaining fiscal integrity. Responsibilities include coordinating tuition and fee billing, managing refunds and disbursements in compliance with Title IV and state regulations, and directing collections processes while implementing payment systems and plans to enhance operational effectiveness.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Banner student accounts receivable system and ensure accurate billing and accounting.
- Oversee cash management operations, including payment processing, deposits, and compliance.
- Supervise staff handling student accounts, billing, receivables, cashiering, and customer service.
- Coordinate refunds, disbursements, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Direct collections processes and collaborate across departments to resolve account issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, in addition to the experience requirement below.
- Three years’ progressively responsible student billing or accounting-related management experience.
- Extensive working knowledge of computerized student-related applications.
- Knowledge of student accounts, student financial services and higher education principles, practices, and procedures.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Preferred
- Experience with Banner.
- Experience with CashNet.
