About the Role: IPSY is looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Indirect Procurement to build and lead our indirect procurement function from the ground up. This role will centralize all indirect procurement activities, analyze spend data to identify savings opportunities, implement best-in-class sourcing processes, and partner with cross-functional teams to drive cost efficiency and value creation across the company.

The ideal candidate is a builder—someone with deep procurement expertise who thrives in creating structure, process, and discipline where none currently exists, while also being hands-on in execution.

This position reports to SVP of Operations and can be fully remote from any of the 16 U.S. states where IPSY has an established business presence (see application for a list). What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Build the Indirect Procurement Function
  • Develop and execute a centralized strategy for indirect procurement covering all non-product categories (e.g., marketing, IT, professional services, facilities, travel, logistics, HR services).
  • Establish policies, processes, and tools to manage sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract lifecycle.
  • Define and implement standardized procedures for RFI/RFP, vendor evaluation, and competitive bidding.
  • Spend Analysis & Cost Savings
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of company-wide indirect spend to identify consolidation and savings opportunities.
  • Develop a rolling pipeline of sourcing initiatives with measurable ROI.
  • Monitor market trends to benchmark pricing and identify alternative suppliers or innovative sourcing approaches.
  • Contract & Vendor Management
  • Lead the final contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
  • Implement a structured contract review and approval framework to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Build vendor performance tracking mechanisms and manage supplier relationships to optimize value.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, Marketing, IT, and other departments to understand needs, align sourcing strategies, and ensure smooth execution.
  • Coach and support stakeholders in applying procurement best practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on procurement strategies and cost optimization.

What We Are Looking For: Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA or relevant professional certification (CPSM, CIPS) preferred.
  • 10 years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 5 years focused on indirect procurement in a mid-to-large sized organization.
  • Proven track record of building or transforming a procurement function, ideally in a company with $300M–$1B in annual revenue.
  • Strong experience with spend analytics, sourcing strategy development, and contract negotiation.

Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret financial and spend data to uncover savings opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of procurement tools, ERP systems, and contract management platforms.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align procurement strategy with company objectives.
  • Self-starter who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building processes from scratch in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary & equity grants
  • Annual bonus program (paid out quarterly)
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance
  • 401(k) plan with company match
  • Paid Time Off
  • Work from home flexibility
  • Free BoxyCharm subscription
  • Learning & development programs
