The Director of Business Development is the core person in charge of the company’s business growth and market expansion, responsible for new market development, strategic partner expansion, business model optimization, and business opportunity identification.

This position requires excellent business acumen, negotiation skills, and strategic planning abilities. Through systematic business development strategies and efficient execution, the director aims to drive company revenue growth and market share increase.

Core Responsibilities:

I. Strategic Planning and Market Development

Formulate and execute the company’s business development strategy, ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategic goals;

Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify new markets and business opportunities;

Identify key industries, regions, and customer groups, and develop targeted expansion strategies;

Participate in business model innovation and business feasibility assessments, providing decision support to management;

Regularly review market expansion results and optimize strategies and resource allocation.

II. Customer Management and Partner Development

Establish and maintain strategic customer relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and long-term cooperation value;

Identify potential partner and strategic alliance opportunities, and promote cross-industry or cross-regional cooperation;

Develop customer development plans and optimize customer acquisition and conversion processes;

Participate in key customer negotiations and contract signing to ensure maximum business benefits;

Supervise the execution of cooperative projects to ensure that both parties achieve their goals and commitments.

III. Business Growth and Sales Support

Support the sales team in identifying potential business opportunities and developing actionable expansion plans;

Drive business channel expansion and optimize regional and industry coverage strategies;

Establish a business analysis system to track new business performance and market response;

Assist in developing pricing strategies and cooperation plans to improve profitability and market competitiveness;

Promote cross-departmental resource integration to achieve business growth targets.

IV. Cross-Departmental Collaboration and Project Management

Work closely with the marketing, sales, product, operations, and legal teams to ensure smooth business expansion.

Manage key business expansion projects from initial research and solution design to execution.

Establish project management and progress tracking mechanisms to ensure goal achievement and risk control.

Produce business expansion reports and market insights to support senior management decision-making.

Promote the standardization and systematization of the company’s business expansion processes.

V. Team Management and Capacity Building

Lead the business expansion team, clarifying job responsibilities and goal breakdown.

Develop training and development plans to enhance the team’s market insight, negotiation, and strategic execution capabilities.

Establish a high-performance culture and results-oriented mechanism to motivate the team to create sustained business growth.

Manage team budgets and resource allocation to ensure smooth project progress.

Qualifications

Education Background

Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.

MBA or Executive Education background preferred.

Work Experience

Over 15 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or sales management, including over 10 years in management positions;

Experience in business development for large enterprises, group companies, or multinational corporations;

Successfully driven market expansion, new business launches, or strategic partnership projects;

Familiar with B2B, B2C, or channel business models, and possess cross-departmental collaboration experience.

Professional Skills

Proficient in business development, strategic partnerships, and market analysis methods;

Excellent negotiation skills and contract management abilities;

Familiar with market research, customer management, and business model design;

Proficient in CRM, BI, and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.);

Able to develop strategic plans and drive their implementation.
