Position Dietary Aide Competition 2026 120 Current Opportunity STATUS Part Time Department Nutritional Services Union Association CUPE SALARY 2695 2783hour HOURS Variety of shifts including days afternoons weekends and holidays0645 14451045 1845subject to change based on operational needs Position Summary Working under the general direction of the Food Service Supervisor the Dietary Aide performs essential tasks needed to provide food for patients cafeteria and catering functions The Dietary Aide participates in Continuous Quality Improvement processes as a team member in assessing quality and making recommendations for improvement Requirements Education and Experience Secondary School Diploma or equivalent Related experience in the food service industry Current Food Handling Certification mandatory and maintained throughout employmentFood Service Worker Certificate preferredPrevious experience in a hospital or long term care facility food service environment and knowledge of therapeutic diets is preferredSkills & Abilities Ability to read understand and interpret oral and written instructionsRelate in a respectful tactful and sensitive manner with patients staff and visitorsWork both independently and as a member of a teamFlexibility to modify routines as required to manage changing prioritiesGood attendance and availability required
