Dental Payment Poster
Dental Insurance Verification Specialist (Remote — U.S.)
Position Type: Full-Time, Contract 4-6 Months
Schedule: Monday — Friday, 8:00 AM — 5:00 PM (local time)
Location: Remote — Open to candidates anywhere in the United States
Key Responsibilities
- Post Payments & Adjustments
- Accurately post insurance payments, patient payments, and contractual adjustments to the correct patient accounts.
- Reconcile Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and electronic remittance advices (ERAs).
- Apply write-offs and adjustments according to payer contracts and office policies.
- Account Reconciliation
- Verify posted payments against daily deposit logs and bank statements to ensure accuracy.
- Identify posting errors, discrepancies, or missing payments and resolve them promptly.
- Insurance & Revenue Cycle Support
- Review denied or partially paid claims and forward issues to billing or insurance follow-up teams.
- Assist with correcting claim information when necessary to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance codes, fee schedules, and payer rules.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation for daily payment posting activities.
- Generate and review payment reports, posting summaries, and reconciliation logs.
- Assist management with month-end closing tasks as needed.
- Communication & Collaboration
- Coordinate with the billing team, front office, and insurance coordinators to resolve payment issues.
- Communicate discrepancies or patterns of underpayment or denials to appropriate team members.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in medical/dental billing preferred.
- Experience with dental billing, insurance payment posting, or revenue cycle management.
- Familiarity with dental coding (CDT codes) and common insurance carriers.
- Proficiency in dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Dentcon, Open Dental).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet daily posting deadlines.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience

Strong computer skills, including experience with dental practice management or EHR systems.
