Data Science Analyst – Alzheimer Research – Remote
About the Opportunity:
Data Scientists perform detailed analysis of large bodies of heterogeneous data to discover new patterns and insights that impact patient health and augment human capabilities. The candidate should have expertise in AI, machine learning, deep learning, statistical data processing, regression techniques, neural networks, decision trees, clustering, pattern recognition, probability theory, and data science methods used to analyze data.
May collaborate with knowledge architects, informaticians, clinicians, and external partners to develop and deploy applications that bring AI and analytic solutions to nontechnical users, often at the point of care. Applies and modifies existing scripts or software applications to support data management, extraction, analysis, and AI as required. May develop predictive models on datasets to address various business problems using statistical modeling, operations research, machine learning, or data mining techniques. May provide consultative services to departments/divisions and support scientific projects under guidance of senior data scientists.
Responsibilities:
• Provide data insights for business problems using analytics techniques on structured and unstructured data
• Apply expertise in data science methods and knowledge of data types, topics, and scientific challenges
• Execute analytical procedures within project work requests
• Create or modify scripts/software to support data management, extraction, and analysis
• Contribute to interpretation of data analysis and report writing
• Assist customers in understanding data sets and provide training and improvement suggestions
• Collaborate with subject matter experts using strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Present findings in clear terms for business or clinical practice
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, health science, or other analytical/quantitative field
• Minimum three years of professional or research experience in data science
• Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in relevant field and at least one year of professional or research experience
• Demonstrated ability to develop predictive models leveraging advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining techniques
• Experience providing consultative services to departments/divisions and committees
• Application of multiple problem-solving methodologies, planning techniques, continuous improvement methods, and analytical tools (e.g., machine learning, statistical packages, modeling)
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while staying current on healthcare trends
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, time management, and advanced computer application skills
• Experience with data modeling and data exploration tools
