About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Data and Reporting Analyst to join our dynamic Product & Actuarial Department. In this role, you will operate independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams including Underwriting, Marketing, and Claims to develop comprehensive data reports and actionable insights. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance business performance reporting, improve data integrity, and support analytical initiatives that inform strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of property & casualty insurance products, with experience in creating reports for diverse insurance lines such as Personal Auto, Commercial Auto, and General Liability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with property & casualty insurance products in a business or data analyst capacity
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft Access, SQL, Redshift, Netezza, Oracle, or DB2
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in data analysis, trend identification, and data visualization tools such as SAS, R, Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView
  • Experience with data mapping, automation, and scripting languages is preferred
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of insurance products, underwriting, and claims processes is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to understand their reporting needs and translate requirements into effective data reports and visualizations
  • Conduct detailed data analysis, interview business partners, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Support the automation and streamlining of recurring and ad-hoc reporting functions on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Coordinate with management, IT teams, and end-users to ensure timely delivery of accurate and user-friendly reports
  • Identify key performance metrics to monitor trends and measure business performance
  • Gather requirements and design new reports aligned with current business initiatives
  • Enhance existing reporting capabilities and suggest innovative solutions to meet future needs
  • Develop strategies to increase automation, improve data accuracy, and implement quality controls
  • Utilize automation tools to schedule, execute, and monitor data jobs regularly
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of reports, procedures, and processes
  • Leverage technology to improve reporting efficiency and explore alternative delivery methods
  • Assist in developing dashboards and metrics that incorporate financial and operational data
  • Communicate analysis results effectively to management and relevant teams
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize data workflows and reporting solutions
