About The Role The Data Engineer plays a vital role within Sennos’ Data & Analytics organization, supporting the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our modern data platform. This position focuses on designing and implementing scalable data pipelines, transforming raw data into meaningful insights, and ensuring the integrity and reliability of our Snowflake-based data warehouse. The Data Engineer will work closely with senior technical leadership, data architecture, analytics, and product teams to build robust data workflows that support analytics, reporting, machine learning, and product development initiatives. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to advanced data modeling, quality assurance, and scalable platform development, contributing directly to Sennos’ mission of revolutionizing biomanufacturing through data-driven insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 2–4 years of experience in data engineering or a related data-focused role
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes and structured data warehouses
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, preferably AWS
  • Strong SQL skills, including joins, window functions, and query optimization fundamentals
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing, scripting, and automation
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug data workflows effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and Python under guidance from senior data engineering leadership
  • Develop and manage data transformations utilizing tools like dbt within a Snowflake environment
  • Create and optimize datasets and views to support analytics, reporting, machine learning, and product features
  • Handle ad hoc data requests with precision, ensuring data integrity and consistency
  • Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and testing processes to ensure reliable data in the warehouse
  • Support the enforcement of data contracts between source systems and the data warehouse
  • Assist in reverse ETL workflows to operationalize warehouse data into downstream systems
  • Contribute to ML data preparation and feature pipeline workflows
  • Collaborate with Data Architecture, Analytics Engineering, Product, and Software Engineering teams on various projects
  • Participate in documentation, governance practices, and continuous improvement initiatives for data engineering standards
