About The Role The Senior Data Analyst at Sedgwick Government Solutions is a pivotal role designed for a data-driven professional with a strong background in healthcare analytics, reporting, and visualization. This remote or hybrid position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects, providing actionable insights to internal teams and external clients. The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for developing comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visualizations that communicate complex data in an understandable manner, supporting strategic decision-making processes. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical acumen, and excellent communication skills to translate data into meaningful narratives that influence business outcomes. Located primarily in Columbus, OH, this position also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring data integrity, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the analytics domain.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a data, analytics, or healthcare-related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant analytics experience
- At least 3 years of healthcare management experience, including Workers’ Compensation, Health Plans, Insurance Industry, Medical Case Management, or Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM)
- Preferred: Experience in Workers’ Compensation and Specialty Health Programs
- Minimum of 1 year experience in communicating complex analytics findings to stakeholders
- Proficiency with analytical software, database reporting tools, and data mining applications
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Experience working with both in-house and third-party data sources
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and agile practices
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
- Ability to travel up to 5% as needed
Responsibilities
- Produce, document, and present ad-hoc and recurring reports with visualizations to internal and external stakeholders, translating complex data into layperson-friendly language
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards using various data sources, querying database repositories and leveraging tools such as SSMS, VBA, Power BI, and Access
- Design, develop, and enhance dashboards and reports in Power BI, incorporating statistical analysis and visual storytelling
- Support clients and internal teams by integrating data from multiple sources, including industry benchmarks, to generate actionable insights
- Collaborate with project managers, data analysts, and clients to demonstrate program outcomes and provide strategic recommendations
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy across all reporting deliverables
- Participate in quality assurance processes, including testing prototypes and reviewing analytic tools
- Work with technical teams to optimize data ingestion, database management, and reporting processes
- Develop and maintain data standards and documentation, including SOPs and work instructions
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members on analytical techniques and best practices
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and effectiveness
