About The Role The Senior Data Analyst role at Sedgwick Government Solutions offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about data and analytics to contribute to high-profile government projects. This position involves transforming complex data into actionable insights, creating compelling reports and visualizations, and partnering with internal teams and external clients to support decision-making processes. The Senior Data Analyst will leverage advanced analytical techniques—descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive—to add value to client programs, particularly within healthcare management sectors such as Workers’ Compensation, Health Plans, and Pharmacy Benefits. Located remotely or in a hybrid capacity in Columbus, OH, the role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert, supporting data integrity, optimizing reporting workflows, and developing innovative analytical tools to meet evolving client needs.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in data, analytics, or healthcare-related disciplines from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant analytics experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare management experience, including but not limited to Workers’ Compensation, Health Plans, Insurance Industry, Medical Case Management, or Pharmacy Benefit Management
  • Preferred: Experience in Workers’ Compensation and Specialty Health Programs
  • At least 1 year of experience in communicating complex analytics findings to stakeholders effectively
  • Proficiency in analytical software, database reporting tools, and data mining software
  • Experience with industry-standard data visualization tools and dashboards
  • Experience working with both in-house and third-party data sources
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and agile practices
  • Expertise in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to travel up to 5%

Responsibilities

  • Produce, document, and present both ad-hoc and regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) with visualizations and analyses to internal and external stakeholders, explaining performance results in layman’s terms
  • Create and develop reports and visualizations by querying databases and leveraging analytical tools such as SSMS, VBA, Power BI, Excel, and Access
  • Design, enhance, and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI, integrating statistical data and visual elements for clarity and impact
  • Support clients and internal teams by integrating in-house and third-party data sources, industry benchmarks, and best practices to generate actionable insights
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to demonstrate program outcomes and provide strategic recommendations to address client challenges
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy of reports, and continuous improvement of reporting processes
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and support the organization’s quality management programs
  • Test and validate prototype software, contributing to the approval and release processes for new analytical tools
  • Work closely with technical teams to optimize data ingestion, database management, and reporting software
  • Develop and maintain data standards and common data elements to ensure consistency across projects
  • Document processes through Work Instructions or SOPs to support team knowledge sharing and compliance
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, answering technical and procedural questions
  • Review and validate analytic tools and reports created by colleagues to uphold quality standards
