Job Summary:
Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to support critical application and data initiatives. This role plays a key part in leveraging data to drive strategic decisions, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure compliance within a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, advanced SQL proficiency, experience with cloud platforms, and knowledge of automation and machine learning techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and analyze large datasets across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Develop insightful dashboards and reporting tools using modern BI platforms connected to cloud data ecosystems.
- Apply machine learning techniques to support use cases such as fraud prevention, customer segmentation, and credit-related modeling.
- Design and automate data workflows and pipelines, incorporating orchestration tools and cloud-native technologies.
- Collaborate with engineering, risk, compliance, and business teams to deliver high-impact, data-driven solutions.
- Maintain strong data governance, ensuring data integrity, quality, and alignment with regulatory expectations.
- Investigate and resolve data quality issues to support accurate reporting and decision-making.
- Support the security, performance, and compliance of applications operating within a banking environment.
- Utilize data management platforms effectively; experience with Informatica is a plus.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, MIS, Statistics, or another quantitative field.
- 5 years of relevant experience in data analysis or similar roles.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or Snowflake.
- Experience with automation tools such as Power Automate or scripting in Python.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including services like Lambda, S3, Azure Functions, or BigQuery.
- Ability to build governance and performance dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R for analytics and model development.
- Domain experience in banking, including areas such as regulatory reporting, risk analytics, or operational processes.
- Familiarity with cloud-native data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
