Cybersecurity consultant with security technologies
Requirements
Must have:
– Bachelors degree in management information systems, Computer and Information Sciences, Engineering, Security Systems, or related fields – At least 2 years of IT management systems, cybersecurity, or relevant experience, preferably focused on product security – Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a business context – Proven understanding of common security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and relationship between product safety and cybersecurity risk – Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously – Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills for effective problem-solving in dynamic environments – Ability to collaborate successfully within a team and adapt to rapid changes in business and technology – Outstanding documentation, communication, and interpersonal abilities Preferred: – Previous experience in a cybersecurity role within product development – Familiarity with medical device design or similar products – Experience with Kubernetes containerization and orchestration technologies – Knowledge of Linux and its file system architecture
Responsibilities:
- Assist in crafting and executing cybersecurity requirements for software product releases and address customer security inquiries – Support the protection of manufacturing and product assets through the implementation of security controls, contributing to vulnerability assessments, documenting risks, and escalating issues to senior staff – Participate in third-party vendor and supplier security evaluations using established guidelines – Aid in tracking compliance and governance activities, updating documentation, and reviewing policies – Help prepare materials for audits and monitor security dashboards while maintaining asset inventory – Engage in incident response activities under the guidance of senior personnel – Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement security solutions for both standalone and embedded software products – Contribute to software security assessments, identifying potential security vulnerabilities through defined tools and methodologies – Assist with securing applications and computing assets in public, private, and hybrid cloud environments – Aid in the monitoring and administration of security systems and configurations as per documented procedures – Support troubleshooting efforts and engage in incident response simulations for products and supporting applications – Contribute to remediation by identifying, documenting, and validating resolutions for security assessment findings – Participate in vulnerability and threat management by logging and following up on identification of security issues using approved tools – Engage in cross-functional security initiatives by attending meetings, completing tasks, and supporting project timelines – Assist in creating security metric reports by gathering data and updating site security dashboards in line with global standards – Support Secure Lifecycle Process (SLP) efforts including cybersecurity assessments and basic threat modeling under senior supervision
