Elwood Staffing would like to inform job seekers about potential employment scams that involve individuals posing as our recruiters to solicit job seekers with job opportunities unrelated to our company. This issue has been reported in multiple states. The text scam poses as an Elwood Staffing recruiter and urges job seekers to apply for a fraudulent job. Some have reported they are being asked to contact them using Whatsapp to pay for computer equipment and background checks.What steps should you take if you suspect you’ve received a fraudulent text?

  • Job-seekers who receive an unsolicited text, email, or similar message suggesting it is from Elwood Staffing should not provide any information.
  • If you have clicked a suspicious link or shared your information, take steps to secure your personal and financial accounts immediately. Review and dispute any unauthorized charges.

Helping you stay secure – how to recognize a scam

  • Elwood Staffing does not utilize mobile apps or messenger services to connect with job seekers. We will not reach out to you through or suggest that you use WhatsApp or other messaging platforms outside of regular SMS text messaging for communication.

Cook Details:

  • Temp-to-Hire position

  • $18.75 /hour

  • Full Time work available

  • Weekend work required

  • First Shift (03:00am to 03:30pm)

  • Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.

  • Follow food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Monitor food inventory, storage, and rotation to minimize waste.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and service.

  • Assist with cleaning, setup, and breakdown of kitchen equipment and workstations.

Cook Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a kitchen, food service, or cooking role preferred.

  • Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and kitchen operations.

  • Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and maintain consistent food quality.

  • Ability to pass a math test and lift 75lbs over head

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, or holidays.

  • Applicant may be subject to a background check

  • Pre-employment drug screen (Excluding THC) is required as a condition of employment
