Job Summary and Qualifications

The Consulting ERP Architect is responsible for setting the technical direction of all software development in the ERP Space for both Vendor provided/derived software as well as custom development. The architect will work with other subject-specific architects, such as HR and Finance, to devise the appropriate direction for solutions with a focus on utilizing existing tooling. This position will also provide consulting services for other teams in the areas of break/fix, performance improvement, monitoring, etc. when the teams are unable to reach an acceptable solution on their own. In addition, the architect will build and design Proof of Concepts for solutions for other teams to implement as well as perform Research and Development of possible solutions for known future scenarios.
The ideal candidate possesses and utilizes significant breadth and depth of experience in ERP-related systems and will be expected to steer the technical work across the teams. The candidate should be a polyglot that is interested in using the appropriate tool for the job. This candidate will work across the ERP organization and with other functional groups, including vendor development teams and other application development teams in addition to infrastructure areas such as system administration teams, database teams, and cloud teams. Strong interpersonal skills, including a desire to work within a highly matrixed team-oriented environment, are a must. Independent operators are not sought and will not be successful in this position.
KEY COMPETENCIES
Major Responsibilities
Provide architectural consulting and advisory services across ERP initiatives and custom development efforts
Influence and guide technical direction while aligning with enterprise architecture standards
Evaluate vendor capabilities versus custom solutions and advise on optimal implementation approaches
Identify architectural risks, technical debt, and scalability concerns and recommend mitigation strategies
Design and lead proof-of-concept initiatives to validate architectural patterns
Provide consulting support for complex performance, scalability, and reliability challenges
Establish and promote architectural best practices and governance frameworks
Proactively identify future ERP technology needs and provide strategic recommendations to leadership
Set the technical direction of the custom development teams
Proactively identify future needs or roadblocks and communicate to ERP Leadership so that work may be prioritized appropriately
Create architectural design, construct, and implement solutions using current ITG best practice technologies

ERP platform experience (Infor, Workday, SAP, Oracle, etc.) — Preferred
Experience working in an Agile development environment — Preferred
Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools — Preferred

10 or more years of relevant work experience — Required
