Seven Oaks Academy is offering a Community Engagement Fellowship for college students seeking internship, practicum, service learning, or volunteer hours in fields such as Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Public Health, or Nonprofit Leadership.
This fellowship provides a meaningful opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an early childhood environment while learning how schools partner with families and the broader community to support young children.
Fellows will observe child development, assist with family engagement initiatives, support community partnerships, and learn how mission-driven schools serve children and families beyond the classroom.
This position is designed to support students completing required academic hours while gaining real-world professional experience.
Duties Support family engagement and community connection initiatives within the school community
Observe classroom environments to understand early childhood development and learning practices
Assist with parent communication, events, and family resource support
Help coordinate community outreach initiatives such as workshops, family education programs, or community partnerships
Assist with documentation, program organization, and administrative support related to family and community programming
Participate in professional reflection and mentorship conversations related to the helping professions
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct when working with families and children
Learning Opportunities Fellows will gain experience in:
- Early childhood education environments
- Family engagement and parent communication
- Community partnership development
- Program coordination and outreach
- Professional ethics and communication in helping professions
- Students will also gain exposure to how nonprofit and community-focused organizations operate in real-world settings.
Requirements Current undergraduate or graduate student in a related field such as:
Human Services
Social Work
Psychology
Education
Public Health
Nonprofit Leadership
Sociology or related discipline
Interest in working with children, families, and community-based programs
Strong communication and professionalism
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Reliable schedule to complete required academic hours

Typical fellowship hours range between 8–15 hours per week depending on program requirements This fellowship is designed to support students completing academic internship or practicum requirements and may be eligible for course credit through participating universities.
