Key People

The team behind gAI Ventures brings deep operating, technical, product and investment experience. They are serial entrepreneurs who have seen -1 to 1 journey several times. One of the Co-founder/Partner previously built and sold a company to an US based IPO-bound unicorn and has invested in over 30 startups, including multiple category leaders. Another Co-founder, CTO is a seasoned AI technologist, former AI researcher, and ex-CTO of a well-funded startup. The third Partner brings a combined background in venture capital, having worked at 500 Startups and led investments at the venture arm of a major bank.

Why Agentic Commerce, Why Now

Agentic commerce is rapidly emerging as the next frontier in commerce: AI agents that autonomously act on behalf of consumers or businesses, completing multi-step tasks such as discovery, comparison, negotiation, checkout, and reordering.

Key enabling trends include:

  • AI agents in commerce: Agents can discover, choose, and pay on behalf of users, enabling secure and personalized experiences. This spans conversational commerce, chatbots, voice bots, and AI assistants embedded in messaging apps.

  • AI payments innovation: Tokenized payables, programmable or purpose-bound money, and delegated payment rails that let agents transact securely on behalf of users. Considerations include how card credentials evolve when the buyer is an AI agent.

  • Trust, safety, and governance: Standards for agent identity, consent, limit controls, and fraud/risk models. Protecting privacy and data while enabling autonomous agent interactions is critical.

  • New UX opportunities: Intelligent commerce allows seamless discovery-to-purchase flows, reducing decision fatigue, anticipating user needs, and improving consumer experiences.

  • SMB and enterprise enablement: AI agents can help small and medium businesses engage with consumers more effectively, streamline operations, and unlock new revenue channels.

This is still early innings, creating huge opportunities at the intersection of UX, trust, payments, data infrastructure, and agent-governance.

Your Role

As Founder-in-Residence, you’ll partner closely with our studio team to lead this company from concept to company. That includes:

  • Validating a sharp, high-friction wedge in the agentic commerce stack

  • Prototyping product flows with real users

  • Shaping product vision, GTM motion, and operating cadence

  • Early team formation and capital strategy

  • Launching and operating the venture as CEO or co-founder

You’ll have full access to our AI, design, GTM, and capital teams, and the studio will support you across research, validation, hiring, and fundraising.

  • First-hand experience in payments, commerce or financial infrastructure, or deep context from prior work

  • Proven ability to build in ambiguous environments and move from zero to one

  • A clear point of view on where the leverage is in the lending stack

  • Entrepreneurial edge, you move fast, hire well, and know how to tell a story

  • A builder’s instinct and an operator’s discipline
