Role Description

This is a full-time, contract role for a Clinical Data Analyst (Contract). The Clinical Data Analyst will be responsible for gathering, managing, and analyzing healthcare data to generate actionable insights. Key responsibilities include interacting with clinical and administrative leaders, performing statistical analysis, developing data reports, managing data sets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support decision-making. The role also involves ensuring data quality and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with clinical, operational, and administrative leaders to translate business and clinical questions into clear analytic requirements and actionable insights.
  • Analyze complex clinical and operational data to identify trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities related to quality, access, and affordability.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality reports, dashboards, and analytic outputs that support executive and operational decision-making.
  • Manage, validate, and maintain large healthcare data sets, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across sources.
  • Apply data quality checks and governance standards to ensure compliance with internal policies and healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with data engineering, IT, and clinical informatics teams to resolve data issues and improve data availability and usability.
  • Support standardization of metrics, definitions, and reporting approaches across clinical and operational domains.
  • Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of repeatable analytic processes and documentation to support sustainability and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience applying data analytics and statistical methods to generate actionable insights and support evidence-based decision-making in a healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex clinical and operational data and translate findings into clear recommendations to improve performance.
  • Experience managing large healthcare data sets, including data extraction, validation, cleansing, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in SQL, including working with both normalized and denormalized data models.
  • Experience with analytic and visualization tools such as Python, R, and Power BI (or similar platforms) preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare operations, regulatory considerations, and performance measurement.
  • Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) data sources and associated reporting tools.

Salary Range: $95-115/hr

Preferred candidates to be located in NY, CT, MA, VT, NH.

Position can be fully remote or hybrid depending on proximity to client.

Individual compensation depends on factors such as education, experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills.
