Additional Job Description ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The job functions listed below represent the essential job duties and responsibilities of the above-listed position.
- Locate and view video captured by cameras on Werner equipment (Samsara, Bendix, etc.) of any accident or other Risk event and ensure appropriate length of video is saved with the accident record in our claims administration system. Update Risk systems and personnel as appropriate based on the contents of the video(s).
- Assist Risk group in identifying the Werner driver/equipment involved in accidents reported by third parties using Werner mapping technology.
- Support claims intake group as needed, including answering phones, taking reports of new losses, and responding to department emails
- Exceptionally high proficiency and comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of triaging claims from multiple lines of business, including but not limited to Catastrophic (CAT) losses, rollovers, bodily injury accidents, workers’ compensation injuries, and cargo OS&D, including transloads.
- Ability to communicate directly with drivers, customers, 3rd party claimants, independent adjusters, law enforcement officers, and other stakeholders. Able to make independent decisions on when to adjust approach and information being asked/requested based on situation.
- Direct and coordinate activities with multiple departments to reach resolution, when appropriate, as well as deal in high stress situations involving severe injury and/or high dollar exposure.
- Use multiple operating systems simultaneously to perform tasks.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel

- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- This position requires 75 — 80% of independent decision-making ability.
- Document all claim activity timely and effectively in a manner which supports the outcome of the claim file.
- Proficient in the art of advanced listening, negotiation skills and time management.
- Strong analytical skills necessary to make decisions and resolve issues inherent in the handling of claims.
- Must be able to work in a team driven environment.
- PC proficient.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s degree in Claims, Risk management, and/or equivalent motor vehicle accident transportation claims experience.
- Prior experience with the intake and triage of accidents or other reports of loss preferred
The expected starting pay range for this position is $21.96 – $29.28 per hour. Offers determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
