Chief Commercial Officer
- Job Summary
The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is the senior executive responsible for driving the company’s commercial strategy, revenue growth, market expansion, and customer value.
This role oversees Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Product Commercialization, and Customer Success to ensure alignment with overall company goals.
- Key Responsibilities
A. Commercial Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement the company’s commercial strategy and annual revenue plan.
Identify market trends, competitive moves, and emerging opportunities.
Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership in overall strategic planning.
B. Revenue Growth & Business Expansion
Lead revenue growth initiatives and define long-term business development strategies.
Oversee sales targets, forecasting, KPI design, and performance management.
Expand into new markets, channels, and customer segments.
C. Marketing & Brand Management
Lead marketing strategy including brand positioning, communications, digital marketing, and PR.
Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels.
Align marketing and sales to improve lead quality and conversion rates.
D. Product Commercialization & Pricing
Work with the product team to ensure competitive product offerings.
Define pricing models, profitability strategies, and product portfolio plans.
Monitor product performance and customer feedback to guide improvements.
E.Customer & Partner Management
Oversee Customer Success teams to drive retention, satisfaction, and customer lifetime value (CLV).
Participate in key account negotiations and high-impact customer meetings.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships and alliances.
F. Cross-Functional Leadership
Lead and manage all commercial departments: Sales, Marketing, BD, Product Commercialization, Customer Success.
Establish a performance-driven culture with clear OKRs/KPIs.
Mentor and develop leaders within the commercial organization.
G. Data-Driven Decision Making
Build commercial dashboards and metrics for revenue, pipeline, conversion, LTV, CAC, etc.
Conduct financial and performance analyzes to optimize ROI and profitability.
Oversee budget management and resource allocation.
H. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure all commercial activities comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
Mitigate risks related to pricing, contracts, distribution channels, and brand impact.
Review and approve major contracts, proposals, and partnership agreements.
- Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field required.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience
20-25 years of progressive commercial leadership experience.
Proven background in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, or General Management.
Experience managing large, multi-functional teams.
