Top Healthcare Provider Network The 61st Street Service Corporation provides administrative and clinical support staff for ColumbiaDoctors This position will support ColumbiaDoctors one of the largest multi specialty practices in the Northeast ColumbiaDoctors practices comprise an experienced group of more than 2800 physicians surgeons dentists and nurses offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties Opportunity to grow as part of the Certified Medical Assistant Career Ladder Job Summary The Certified Medical Assistant CMA will serve as a key member of the patient care team in an ambulatory setting The CMA will work closely with providers across multiple specialties as well as with other clinical and administrative staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience that contributes to positive health outcomes for patients and a work culture ofService Oriented Trust Empathy Safety Inclusion and Communication Job Responsibilities Greet and interact with patients visitors vendors and all faculty and staffPrepare patients for their visit including pre visit organization of information required for an efficient in office experience performing patient escort and rooming functions taking vital signs medication reconciliation accurate documentation of chief complaint updating history as requested updating health maintenance items as requested providing instructions to patients in a manner that facilitates efficient patient safety and standard operations for the practice Assists patients as needed with walking transferring dressing collecting and processing specimens and point of care testing preparing for exam etcPerform additional check out functions such as scheduling referrals and additional tasks as neededPerform venipuncture as requested and accurately prepare and label specimensCollect and label nasopharyngeal specimens for testing as trainedPerform EKGs andor spirometry as requestedEnter accurate charges into the EHRAssist providers or other clinical staff with in office procedures as requestedServe as a chaperone in the exam room as requestedObtain prior authorizations for medications as requestedMaintain diagnostic equipment perform QC testing and maintain supporting documentationPerform point of care testing as trainedMaintain daily refrigeratorfreezer logs monthly AED log and other QA logs as trainedOther duties as assignedJob Qualifications High school graduate or equivalency and graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant programCMA or equivalency requiredCurrent BCLSAED certification requiredMust demonstrate strong organizational and problem solving skills Ability to perform across multi disciplinary andor specialties while maintaining high productivity and a professional and service oriented demeanorAbility to work collaboratively with a culturally diverse staff and patientfamily population demonstrating tact respect and sensitivityMust have excellent communication skills interpersonal skills and strong ability to deescalate stressful situationsMust be an engaged team member demonstrating collaboration inclusion reliability punctuality and adaptability to new and changing situationsBasic proficiency in computer skills including but not limited to Electronic Health Systems Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word Email systems etcMust be a motivated individual with a positive mindset and exceptional work ethicAssociates Degree or additional academic coursework is preferredPrevious medical assisting experience in an outpatient setting preferredProficiency of OSHA standards including disposal of biohazard waste is preferredPreferred multi specialty experience in a high volume setting preferredPrior EMR experience EPIC preferredHourly Rate Ranges 2205 3384 Note Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience skill set training and education 61st Street Service Corporation At 61st Street Service Corporation we are committed to providing our client with excellent customer service while maintaining a productive environment for all employees The Service Corporation offers a competitive comprehensive Benefit package to eligible employees; including Healthcare and various other benefits including Paid Time off to promote a healthy lifestyle We are an equal employment opportunity employer and we adhere to all requirements of all applicable federal state and local civil rights laws
