Business Risk & Controls Advisory Analyst (Hybrid)
Job Description: Overview This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.This position is responsible for supporting the Corporate Treasury Business Unit (BU) on the execution of the first line risk programs, promoting an environment of risk awareness and risk ownership across the Bank while adhering to the Company’s Risk Appetite and Corporate Strategy. Participates in risk identification and the assessment processes and risk-related trainings. Ensures timely identification and escalation of risks and issues and supports BU management surrounding key risk management issues to ensure the efficient and accurate execution of risk programs.
Responsibilities
- Risk Oversight — Supports the BU to ensure appropriate and effective collaboration between the BU and Risk Management departments. Generates, analyzes, and utilizes BU Risk Reports to identify potential risks that may impact the BU and provides any needed clarification.
- Risk Collaboration – Assesses impact and provides education around current and emerging issues and regulatory requirements with BU key stakeholders. Participates in mandatory risk training and educates BU personnel on key risk programs and topics.
- Risk Governance – Supports the BU’s participation in relevant risk governance group meetings. Provides necessary feedback and coordinates on relevant governance documents to support BU activities and manage risk. Works with BU associates to execute the implementation of effective program policies, standards, and procedures.
- Risk Reporting – Develops BU risk reports that provide a comprehensive view of risks impacting the BU. Monitors BU risk and control performance. Effectively manages and summarizes top and emerging risks and actions to address impacts. Reports key indicators and limits to ensure timely escalation of breaches as required by the Risk Appetite Framework (RAF).
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of experience in Financial Services, First Line Risk Management, Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Financial Services, First Line Risk Management, Enterprise Risk or Operational RiskPreferred Qualifications
- Experience in First Line Risk Management and/or Treasury functions such as Liquidity Risk Management, Interest Rate Risk Management, Capital Management, CCAR, Investment Portfolio and Funding
- Experience with Archer GRC and Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Knowledge of risk techniques, practices, and control frameworks
- Knowledge of various banking and government regulatory requirements and processes
- Ability to work effectively with associates, senior management, and various committees
