About The Role The Business Analyst plays a vital role within Sanford Health by managing business requirements for small to medium-sized projects and contributing as part of larger, more complex project teams. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently with minimal supervision, utilizing established processes and methodologies. The Business Analyst collaborates closely with business stakeholders to understand their objectives, analyze underlying issues, and facilitate project scoping and prioritization. Responsibilities include investigating business needs, problems, and opportunities, consulting stakeholders, and owning both functional and non-functional requirements to ensure they align with business goals.
The role involves analyzing requirements to confirm their suitability and consistency, providing constructive feedback, and supporting test analysts by ensuring that non-functional requirements are adequately covered in testing phases. The Business Analyst acts as a bridge between technical teams and business units, ensuring clear communication and traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in computer science, business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience working with business requirements and project management methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of healthcare systems and processes is preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Manage and document business requirements for small to medium projects or contribute as part of a team on larger projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and analyze business objectives, issues, and opportunities.
- Facilitate project scoping, prioritization, and planning activities.
- Investigate and consult on business needs, problems, and opportunities, providing insights and recommendations.
- Own and trace functional and non-functional requirements across project phases and stakeholders.
- Ensure requirements are fit for purpose, aligned with business goals, and consistent across documentation.
- Provide input to testing teams, especially regarding non-functional requirements, to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Work independently to determine approaches and manage work priorities within established processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance requirements management practices.
