About The Role Waymo is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join its Data Science team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports critical decision-making processes across the organization. Your work will involve designing high-performance data pipelines, creating comprehensive dashboards, and defining key performance indicators that drive the company’s initiatives in driving quality, safety, and reliability. You will collaborate closely with Data Science, Engineering, Operations, Product, and Regulatory teams to ensure accurate, timely, and insightful reporting. Your analyses will inform strategic decisions, optimize operational efficiency, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of Waymo’s autonomous driving systems. Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or in a similar quantitative role within a tech-forward environment.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, including writing high-performance queries with window functions, UDFs, and complex joins for large-scale datasets.
- Experience managing and querying large datasets using tools like BigQuery, Redshift, or similar cloud data warehouses.
- Strong understanding of building scalable data pipelines and managing data infrastructure.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Data Studio, with a proven ability to create executive-ready dashboards.
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex data insights into understandable and actionable information for diverse audiences.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate business needs and address them effectively.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines to support reporting and analytics functions.
- Build and enhance dashboards and reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making across teams.
- Define, govern, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and core metrics related to driving quality, safety, and reliability.
- Collaborate with Data Science, Engineering, Operations, Product, and Regulatory teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Establish clear data definitions and ensure the integrity of metrics used throughout the organization.
- Conduct in-depth analyses of data trends to identify insights that support team and organizational goals.
- Prepare and present reports and insights to Waymo leadership, translating complex data findings into understandable narratives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data infrastructure and analytical processes.
