Assistant Buyer (Non-Food)

AVI Foodsystems is looking for an energetic and optimistic team member to fill the role of Assistant Buyer Founded in 1960 AVI Foodsystems has evolved into one of the most respected and trusted food service companies in the nation Providing comprehensive food services with a focus on the highest quality and freshest ingredients impeccable service and total value is the reputation we have earned and live up to everyday Duties & Responsibilities Create purchase orders and order products for just in time delivery at AVI locationsCreate excel spreadsheets to analyze pricing order history cost savings and increases and prepare requests for quotesTrack vendor purchases and calculate discounts and volume incentive rebatesSource new and alternate products from existing and potential suppliersMaintain approved cost sheets and Great Plains pricing with accounts payable departmentManage process for vendor approval and performance Coordinate pricing and approved vendor information with other internal AVI DepartmentsCoordinate all information with Finance and Operations necessary for smallwares equipment and supply purchases following correct AVI Policy and ProceduresPlace orders for all items approved for other AVI Headquarters Departments such as IT Marketing Sales and Fulfillment CenterAssist in maintaining utility trash pest control and other service rates for all AVI buildings and locationsTrack order and maintain various par levels of equipment in the equipment warehouseAssist AVI field operations with nonfoods and equipment purchases and deliveryRequirements Must be available to work Monday Friday from 800 am 500 pm and an occasional Saturday amExcellent computer skillsExperience with Microsoft Office programs including Word and ExcelAssertive outgoing and professional demeanorExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to multi task in a fast pace atmospherePrevious administrative experienceBenefits AVI offers A family culture and atmosphereCompetitive compensationHealth dental vision and life insurance for full time team members401k with generous company matchPaid vacations and holidaysImmense training and growth opportunitiesWe conduct pre employment drug testing EOE
