Asset Management and Investment Intern
The Summer Intern Asset Management and Investment Intern supports the investments and asset management teams by gaining hands on experience in analyzing potential multifamily land acquisitions assisting with portfolio oversight and shadowing key team members This role provides exposure to deal sourcing financial modeling market research and investment decision making while also learning about property management asset performance and operational best practices Essential Functions Land Acquisition & Sourcing Assist in sourcing potential development land by networking with brokers landowners and other stakeholdersHelp create and maintain lists of target development parcels in designated marketsMonitor market activity regional economic trends and comparable transactions to support acquisition analysisMaintain an organized pipeline of active prospective and closed land dealsFinancial Modeling & Underwriting Assist in supporting evaluation of potential multifamily deals through financial analysis including cash flow projections and scenario modelingAssist in preliminary underwriting and investment feasibility assessmentsMarket Research & Due Diligence Conduct research on market demographics rental trends zoning property valuations and other relevant metricsAssist in supporting the land acquisition due diligence process including coordination with internal and external stakeholdersIdentify potential risks and assist with mitigation strategiesAsset Management Support & Shadowing Shadow the asset management team to gain insight into property operations performance tracking and investor reportingAssist in monitoring portfolio metrics including occupancy rent collections and operating expensesParticipate in asset review meetings observing how strategic decisions are made to enhance property performanceSupport preparation of materials for internal reporting and presentationsInvestment Support & Presentation Draft summaries site overviews and presentation materials for leadership reviewCollaborate across investments legal development and asset management teams to understand the full acquisition and management processOther Stay informed on industry standards real estate valuation methods and emerging multifamily development trendsComplete internship project Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor Skills and Experience Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Finance Real Estate Economics or a related fieldInterest in real estate investment acquisitions and property managementProficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial modeling a plusStrong analytical organizational and problem solving skillsFamiliarity with real estate databases eg CoStar Yardi Argus preferredExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesCollaborative self motivated and eager to learnAbility to sit for extended periods at a desk and work on a computer Occasional walking of potential land acquisition sites which may include uneven terrain Occasional travel will be required Competencies High level of initiative and willingness to learnStrong analytical and financial acumenDetail oriented and organizedAdaptable resourceful and proactive in a dynamic environmentStrong interpersonal and relationship building skills Additional Information FLSA Status Non Exempt; Temporary Location Hybrid HQ Travel Comfortable with occasional site visits including uneven terrain; some travel may be requiredReports To Vice President of InvestmentsDirect Reports NA About Stark Enterprises Stark Enterprises is a full service real estate development company based in Cleveland Ohio with expertise in acquisition development leasing property management construction architectural design landscape architecture marketing and security We are committed to delivering high quality innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients and communities As an Equal Opportunity Employer Stark Enterprises is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace We do not discriminate based on race religion color sex gender identity sexual orientation age disability national origin veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law Employment decisions are based on qualifications merit and business need Join us and be part of a forward thinking company that values both its employees and the communities it serves
