About The Role The Application Support Specialist at Memorial Healthcare System plays a vital role in managing and supporting the organization’s clinical and business applications. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and enhancement of various applications that underpin clinical workflows and administrative processes. The role involves collaborating with vendors, technical teams, and end-users to troubleshoot issues, implement upgrades, and optimize application performance. Strong knowledge of healthcare workflows, clinical systems, and data management principles is essential. Familiarity with programming languages, report development, and system testing will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support applications projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide end-user support by troubleshooting issues, delivering classroom and virtual training, and offering ongoing assistance to optimize application usage.
  • Collaborate with associate application analysts to develop technical skills and deepen understanding of complex systems within Memorial Healthcare System.
  • Design, maintain, and enhance report structures to communicate findings effectively and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Partner with other application management teams and vendors to coordinate system upgrades, configuration changes, and maintain system integrity.
  • Perform moderate complexity tasks such as data collection, auditing, analysis, report generation, and documentation of program development.
  • Analyze operational workflows and data to identify inefficiencies and recommend enhancements for workflow optimization and process improvement.
  • Build and modify applications or modules using common programming languages, ensuring they meet user requirements and operational standards.
  • Participate in vendor selection processes, data management initiatives, and process improvement projects to enhance application effectiveness.
  • Develop and validate digital tools to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards, supporting clinical and administrative functions.
  • Contribute to the design, upgrade, and documentation of clinical and business systems, translating business needs into technical specifications for developers.
  • Maintain applications through collaboration with technical experts, vendors, and IT teams to ensure operational stability and mitigate issues.
  • Oversee application activities including data archiving, security administration, and management of electronic data received.
  • Stay current with operational workflows and system functionalities to provide informed support and continuous improvement.
