reports that show exactly how much food waste they’ve kept out of landfills — turning

sustainability goals into measurable results. Since 2020, we’ve helped thousands of people

and hundreds of organizations build cleaner, more circular waste systems that work for

people and the planet.

About the Role

Moonshot Compost is seeking a motivated, mission-driven Account Executive to lead sales,

business development and customer success in the Houston market. This hybrid role

blends sales, account management, and sustainability education, with the goal of helping

organizations start and strengthen food waste diversion programs. This person will be

responsible for expanding Moonshot’s footprint across Greater Houston while ensuring

every new customer receives exceptional onboarding, training, and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

● Identify, qualify, and close new commercial accounts across targeted sectors (for

example, corporate campuses, hospitals, universities, private schools, and

restaurants).

● Manage inbound leads and execute structured cold outreach programs in

coordination with companywide initiatives.

● Present Moonshot’s value proposition, including diversion reporting, operational

reliability, and compostable packaging solutions, to sustainability, operations, and

facilities stakeholders.

● Work with the sales team to meet or exceed monthly and annual revenue targets.

Customer Onboarding & Training

● Lead onboarding and training for new accounts, ensuring seamless integration into

Moonshot’s collection system.

● Provide sustainability education and best practices for staff, tenants, or students at

customer sites.

● Coordinate with Operations to align service setup, route planning, and container

logistics.

Account Management & Retention

● Serve as the primary account manager for all Houston customers not designated as

Strategic Accounts.

● Partner closely with the Strategic Account Manager (SAM) to support and grow key

enterprise and multi-site relationships.

● Conduct periodic diversion reviews, share performance dashboards, and identify

upsell opportunities (e.g., increased service frequency, compostable packaging).

● Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and renewal opportunities in

HubSpot CRM.

Market & Community Engagement

● From time-to-time, support the SAM by representing Moonshot Compost at

sustainability events, school programs, and community initiatives.

● Build partnerships that enhance Moonshot’s visibility and impact in the Houston

region.

Qualifications

● 2 years of experience in B2B sales, account management, or sustainability program

development, with strong communication and presentation skills.

● Comfort speaking to groups in training or educational settings.
