Salary: $55.00 USD Hourly – $60.00 USD Hourly

Description: Our client is currently seeking a Java Developer for a financial services client in Chicago, IL.

All applicants must be willing to work on W2 without sponsorship.

Requirements:
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 4 years applied experience
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Experience in Java and well versed in Spring Boot, Microservices patterns, event based architecture
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages (Java, ReactJS) and database querying languages
Demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages
Well versed in both RDBMS and NoSQL
Experience with micro services and Test Driven Development architecture
Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
Hands-on experience in one or more AWS services specifically ECS/EKS, Lambda, MSK, SNS, API Gateway, Step functions, storage services
Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Practical cloud native experience, AWS is preferred
  • Exposure to Behavior driven development using Cucumber
  • Exposure to micro frontend UI using technologies like ReactJS, Node.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing highly scalable, highly resilient, low latency, self-monitored applications
    Handles all of check and cash deposits, cash on hand, moving of cash out of the vaults, etc
    Checks aren’t going anywhere but they mostly do corp checks
    Part of the Deposits 2.0 initiative which will take check deposits to real time/transactional rather than daily batches

Tech Stack:
6 years of professional experience
Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and databases.
Proficient in coding in modern programming languages Java, React, Javascript, HTML, CSS
Strong in RESTful API implementation, Spring & Spring Boot, micro-services architecture and databases
Hands-on experience in AWS specifically ECS/EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, Step functions, storage services.
Experience working in Kafka, Cassandra/NoSQL, relational databases
Knowledge of CI/CD deployment with tools such as Jenkins, Maven or Gradle

Preferred skillsets:
Experience in developing automated tests using Cucumber, Karate, Jest
Experience with deployment in the cloud using Terraform
Practical cloud native experience
Knowledge of Domain Driven Design and micro frontend UIs
AWS professional certification is preferred
