Design Engineer

Location: Orlando, FL

Salary: $45.00 USD Hourly – $60.00 USD Hourly

Description: About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join the Test Engineering Mechanical Center of Excellence (COE). This role focuses on the detailed mechanical design and drafting of test stations, design modifications, and general CAD modeling. You will play a key role in developing fixtures for vibration and thermal testing, contributing to high-precision engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs and CAD models for test stations and related components.
• Design vibration and thermal test fixtures for units under evaluation.
• Implement design changes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including documentation and packaging groups.
• Present design concepts and updates in formal design reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical design.
• 5 years of hands-on experience with 3D modeling using CREO.
• Proficiency in applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• At least 1 year of experience using Windchill for product lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of precision machining and optical physics.
• Ability to create 3D models, CCAs, harnesses, and cables.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Zuken for electrical design.
• Familiarity with design principles for high-precision test environments.
• Strong presentation skills for design reviews and technical discussions.
