OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Housekeeping Manager at the Marriott your job description involves leading the housekeeping department to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in all areas of the property while ensuring communication between English and Spanish-speaking team members. The overall responsibilities include supervising and training staff, managing inventory, inspecting rooms and common areas, handling guest requests, maintaining budgets, and collaborating with other departments to provide an excellent guest experience.Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management & Development

Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor housekeeping staff, providing clear instructions and support to ensure adherence to company policies and cleanliness standards.

  • Operational Excellence

Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are kept to the highest cleanliness and maintenance standards.

  • Quality Control

Conduct daily inspections of rooms and common areas to ensure they meet property and brand standards, taking corrective action when necessary.

  • Inventory & Budget Management

Manage order supplies and equipment, track expenses, and assist in monitoring the housekeeping budget.

  • Guest Service Excellence

Respond to guest complaints and requests promptly and professionally, working to resolve issues and enhance the guest experience.

  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration

Work closely with Front Desk and Maintenance departments to ensure a smooth and seamless guest experience.

  • Bilingual Communication & Team Inclusion

Lead daily line-ups and coach team members in both English and Spanish, ensuring inclusivity, and alignment across the team.

  • Safety & Procedures

Ensure staff follow proper safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment.Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Language Proficiency: Ability to communicate between English and Spanish-speaking team members.
  • Leadership & Coaching: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team through a servant-leadership approach.
  • Attention to Detail: A sharp, uncompromising eye for cleanliness, organization, and presentation.

  • Experience: Typically requires experience in housekeeping leadership or rooms operations management within the hospitality industry.
  • Flexibility: Availability for flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

· Ability to communicate between English and Spanish-speaking team members.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a hotel environment.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software is preferred.
