++Required Experience:++

  • 3+ years or more in Scrum Master in agile software development environments
  • 7+ years or more in Software Development, QA, or Product Management environment –very strong understanding of SDLC
  • Proficient with agile work management tools. (i.e., Azure DevOps (ADO) preferred. Jira, Confluence, Git accepted)
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)
  • Demonstrate leadership competencies including, but not limited, to the following areas: agility and adaptability, building partnerships, business acumen, continuous improvement, courage, customer focus, decision making, initiating action, trust, and integrity. Exhibits servant leadership and emotional intelligence.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with limited direction individually and as a team member
  • Excellent organizational skills within agile and product methodologies.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills

Our client is seeking a Scrum Master that is a servant leader who leads by example, coaching the team on Scrum and Lean Agile principles, ensuring these principles are applied in practice. They create an environment that encourages effective team dynamics, smooth workflow, and relentless improvement. The Scrum Master collaborates closely with product owners, stakeholders, and team members to deliver high-value products iteratively and effectively.

Essential Functions

  • Leadership: Educate and mentor the team(s) to understand and adopt Scrum Frameworks and Lean Agile mindset; Coach and support the product owner on effective backlog management practices to maintain a healthy backlog and guide product owner on effective management of stakeholder expectations.
  • Facilitation: Facilitate scrum events, ensuring they happen in cadence, meet their objectives, are productive, timeboxed, and creatively run.
  • Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of relentless improvement (kaizen) and coach the team to continuously inspect and adapt; Build a trusting, open and safe environment where team members feel safe to experiment and arrive at innovative solutions; Guide the team to higher agile maturity at a sustainable pace in partnership with agile coaches.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Set up and manage tooling utilized for lean agile delivery processes to enable the team to visualize and manage work.
  • Keep the team focused on delivering value by minimizing external interruptions and distractions
  • Guide team understanding of metrics that can provide insights for improvement, create, and maintain sprint health reports and dashboards, and help the team to make data-driven decisions.
  • Actively contribute to Scrum Master Community of Practice promoting learning and knowledge sharing across the organization
  • Collaborate with portfolio management in tracking and communicating progress on the team’s commitments to organizational goals.
  • Contributes as a working member of the team with skills including, but not limited to business analysis, development, testing, project management, and financials.
