A financial services company is actively seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead the their Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & Anti-Fraud Implementation capabilities within Palantir Foundry. As the technical subject matter expert for Palantir Foundry, this leader will spearhead implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of rule-based and data-driven AML detection pipelines while developing team capabilities through knowledge transfer and structured training.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to rapidly upskill team members in Foundry tools including Code Workbooks, Object Builders, and Pipeline Workflows
  • Lead technical design reviews and provide architectural guidance for implementation of complex AML detection scenarios
  • Serve as a trusted technical authority on Palantir Foundry setting standards and best practices for development
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and knowledge repositories for Foundry implementation
  • Implement business provided technical detection logic, supporting both rule-based and advanced data-driven use cases
  • Establish frameworks that enable scalable scenario implementation across the team
  • Lead the implementation of reusable components and patterns for data enrichment, feature engineering, and temporal analysis
  • Define standards for pipeline efficiency and maintainability
  • Develop and maintain pipelines for data enrichment, feature engineering, and temporal analysis of financial behavior
  • Establish testing methodologies to validate correct implementation of scenario logic, pipeline outputs, and transformations
  • Oversee implementation quality and testing
  • Implement quality metrics and monitoring systems for AML detection pipelines
  • Monitor pipeline execution, resolve data processing issues, and optimize Spark-based workflows for performance and reliability.
  • Maintain clear, version-controlled documentation as it relates to implementation of AML scenarios and associated data flows
  • Work cross-functionally with Investigations, BSA/AML Compliance, and Data Governance teams to ensure alignment with regulatory and operational standards
  • Serve as L2 support for AML scenario pipelines and address issues raised by analysts or engineering operations
  • Participate in platform enhancement efforts related to AML & Anti-Fraud implementation, rule authoring frameworks, and investigation tooling

Qualifications:

  • 7 years of technical experience with demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and mentor junior engineers
  • Demonstrated expertise developing within Foundry using Pipelines, Code Workbooks (Python, PySpark, SQL), Object Builder, and Ontology, with the ability to train others effectively
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering technical training that accelerates team capabilities
  • Experience designing scalable data architectures that support complex business requirements
  • Expert-level experience with Spark, PySpark, and SQL for large-scale data transformation and analysis
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions while anticipating future needs
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience supporting AML detection system in Foundry
  • Solid understanding of AML typologies (e.g., structuring, layering, smurfing) and experience operationalizing AML scenarios in a production system
  • Experience integrating alert outputs with case management tools
  • Experience designing training programs for complex technical platforms
  • Exposure to anomaly detection and machine learning-based alerting techniques
