Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join a primary care healthcare practice in Dover, DE. The ideal candidate will support the head physician and patients by performing administrative and clinical tasks to ensure efficient patient care and smooth office operation. This is a unique practice for direct primary care. Meaning, all patients are members of the clinic so there is no billing/insurance involved outside of the clinics membership fee which results in a low patient volume of approximately 8-10 patients per day.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

• Take and record vital signs and medical histories

• Prepare patients for examinations and assist during procedures

• Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician

• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens

• Sterilize medical instruments and maintain exam rooms

Administrative Duties:

• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow

• Maintain and update patient records in the EMR system

• Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries

• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care

• General administrative responsibilities of the office (i.e.: clerical work, taking out the trash, receiving packages/mail, etc.)

Skills and Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 YOE (ideally 5-7 YOE) as a Medical Assistant

  • Experienced with the following procedures: Immunizations, spirometry, EKG, Point of Care testing (Urinalysis/Flu/COVID/Strep/etc.), collecting vitals, etc.

  • Ability to uphold patient confidentiality & HIPPA adherence

  • Well-versed in EMR’s — Elation, EPIC, or similar

  • Excellent Customer Service skills and bedside manner

  • HS Diploma/GED

  • Comfortable working with Pediatric Patients – Advanced certifications: MA/RMA/Nursing

  • Phlebotomy

  • Primary Care experience
