About The Role

The Carboncopies Foundation is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Content Creator to join our team on a volunteer basis. In this role, you will be responsible for developing original and engaging content across various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Discord, and YouTube. Your primary focus will be to research and transform content ideas into compelling visual and textual formats such as videos, images, infographics, and captions that resonate with our target audience. You will collaborate closely with the Social Media Manager to plan and execute a content calendar that aligns with the foundation’s goals and campaigns. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about science, technology, and social media to make a meaningful impact while honing their skills in digital content creation and community engagement. As this is a remote volunteer role, flexibility and self-motivation are essential to success.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in social media management, content creation, digital marketing, or related fields (preferred but not required).
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their content formats.
  • Deep knowledge of current social media trends, hashtags, and engagement strategies.
  • Proficiency in content creation and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or similar software.
  • Proven ability to create engaging and shareable content tailored to different platforms.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for visual design and detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and produce engaging social media content, including text captions, images, videos, and infographics, customized for each platform.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all social media channels to enhance brand recognition and loyalty.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage a content calendar to ensure timely and relevant posts aligned with marketing campaigns.
  • Monitor audience interactions, respond promptly to comments and messages, and foster community engagement.
  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics using analytics tools, adjusting strategies to optimize reach and engagement.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure content supports organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Engage with followers and manage online communities to build a vibrant and supportive network.
  • Stay updated on social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms to keep content fresh and effective.
