Hadoop Production Support

Location: Charlotte NCIntroduction: We are looking for a Hadoop Application Support specialist capable of working with one or more applications in a Hadoop data lake environment. The role requires supporting existing Hadoop applications and the flexibility to work in rotating shifts to provide 24×7 support.Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience with the Hadoop ecosystem (Cloudera), including understanding and applying evolving tools to relevant problems.
• 2-3 years of experience in HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, and Impala.
• Experience in a Big Data implementation in a production environment.
• 2-3 years of experience with Spark, Kafka, and Linux/Unix technologies is mandatory.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Support multiple projects with competing deadlines.
• 24/7 monitoring of production applications to ensure SLAs are met.
• Triage and remediation of job failures.
• Collaborate with upstream/downstream applications to address delays or data issues.
• Generate and submit reports to senior management.
• Analyze and debug existing shell scripts/Python/Perl code to resolve issues or enhance functionality.
• Possess sound knowledge of relational databases (SQL) and experience with large SQL-based systems.
• Provide IT consulting experience in data warehousing engagements, handling large data volumes, and architecting big data environments.
• Benchmark and debug critical issues with algorithms and software as they arise.
