Position Purpose: The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for conducting process control audits and/or documentation reviews for compliance with standards such as internal and regulatory standards and ISO and URAC standards. This position identifies and tracks opportunities for improvement, which may include formal preventive and corrective action requests (PARs and CARs) and departmental processes. This position also performs processes that support the policy and procedure (P&P) application, including author/user coaching and ad hoc reporting.

  • Schedules, prepares for, conducts and reports on internal quality assessments.
  • Discovers best practices used in the organization and shares with others to support continuous improvement.
  • Communicates with business owners to solicit updates on improvement opportunities identified during assessments. Maintains databases to track progress and closure of improvement opportunities.
  • Keeps up to date with all changes to and continually expands knowledge base of standards such as regulatory and department standards, ISO and URAC standards.
  • Serves as guide to external ISO registrar/auditor.
  • Maintains department database to manage internal assessment scheduling information, checklists, and defined criteria specific to each department.
  • Administers P&P application and makes changes or improvements.
  • Maintains templates for documentation that remain viable to the organization.
  • Collaborates with appropriate department or staff to maintain and deliver P&P author training modules on effective policy, procedure, and work instruction documentation.
  • Coaches P&P authors as needed on effective documentation practices and appropriate use of the P&P application.
  • Publishes approved P&Ps to internal Web site.
  • Establishes and maintains a systematic process for notifying authors of impending expiration of documents and then re-noticing them until expired documents are updated or retired.
  • Serves as liaison with IT Services and Access Admin regarding P&P application.
  • Establishes and maintains a systematic process for the authorization and tracking of sign-off authorities for P&P approval.
  • Maintains department policies and procedures.
  • Contributes in the development of training curriculum.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum two years audit or quality control experience. Minimum two years experience in Health Net Federal Services, health care industry or health care benefits preferred.
