Job Summary

Provides specialized cardiovascular care, while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort.

Performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment, and evaluates patient response to diagnostic cardiac

procedures. Proficient in the operation and maintenance, as specified by the manufacturer, of all

diagnostic and therapeutic equipment used for procedures in the specific area of operation.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma/G.E.D. Required

Associate Degree Preferred Graduate of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in

health science (including, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory

therapy, or nursing) or graduate of a programmatically accredited program in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) strongly preferred

Minimum Experience Requirements

One year of experience in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography), preferred

License/Certifications Requirement

Credential Source Required

Basic Life Support American Heart Association Required

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Required Currently registered as American Registry for

Diagnostic Medical Sonographers as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or via CCI as a

Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)

Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprising Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St Francis Hospital – Interquest. St. Francis Hospital opened in 2008 to keep pace with the growing needs of the Colorado Springs’ community on the north side of the city. St. Francis Hospital features 340-beds and offers a modern Birth Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Cancer Center, Emergency Department, Level III Trauma Center, Imaging Services, Acute Inpatient Rehab, Surgical Services and Critical Care Unit. It also serves as southern Colorado’s home base for the Flight For Life Colorado air medical transport service. Pay Range

$37.59 – $63.31 /hour
