Job Description We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Step-Down RN to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac care, particularly in managing post-operative open heart patients and patients requiring cardiac monitoring. The RN will typically work every 3rd weekend and cover 1 holiday, subject to change based on census and staffing needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to cardiac step-down patients, including open-heart, vents, and cardiac drips.
- Monitor patient recovery from heart catheterizations and post-operative procedures.
- Float to other units during low volumes or staffing crises as needed.
- Participate in patient education and provide emotional support for patients and families.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in cardiac step-down nursing.
- Experience with open-heart surgery, vent management, and Epic EMR.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
